Holy Socks! Sock Puppetry Workshop with Oliver Smart

In this playful workshop for adults, Oliver will show you how to breathe life into an odd sock and turn it into your very own extraordinary character. No prior creative experience needed—just a sense of fun. Using gluing, sewing and colourful materials, you'll build your puppet and pick up the basics of puppetry performance.

​This is a BYOOS (bring your own odd socks) event, so feel free to bring your most beloved or unusual odd socks to make into puppets. We will provide socks for those who can't bring them, as well as all the puppet making materials to work with.

Oliver Smart is an artist and puppeteer specialising in sculptural, life-like movement. He's worked with Disney, Channel 4, The National Theatre and Nickelodeon, and is a founding director of Folded Feather, touring experimental puppet theatre internationally since 2011. Oliver is also friend and regular of the Mandala Café, so we're delighted to have him running this workshop!
