Description
'There are hundreds of books on mindfulness, but for a practical guide I would turn first to Life with Full Attention by Maitreyabandhu....' – Alice O'Keeffe - The Guardian
It’s your mindset, your habitual thought patterns and unconscious inner narratives that limit your life. Mindfulness is about working with limiting thoughts in order to become more alive, more creative, and more able to face the challenges of life.
Studies suggest mindfulness helps people manage stress, cope better with illness and reduce anxiety and depression. Many people report an increased ability to relax, a greater enthusiasm for life and improved self-esteem.
Mindfulness comes from the Wisdom tradition of Buddhism. If we take mindfulness out of that context we change it; it becomes less authentic. This course puts mindfulness back in context but in a day-to-day practical way, bringing ancient mindfulness techniques to bear on modern life.
Ultimately the aim of mindfulness is to move towards reality itself, to progress toward the enlightened mind. A rare chance to take the course, which is one of the most popular courses at the LBC, with the author.
